Who am I?

I am Ilmari Salovaara and I've been an enthusiastic at studying everything from history, cars, various weightlifting and bodybuilding sports, and all in between. It has been almost a decade since graduating from polytechnic as bachelor of computer sience but the spirit of an engineer is stronger than ever.

Enthusiasm into learning wasn't triggered by schools or teachers but by hobbies. I learned how to modify computer games and spent hundreds of hours doing complete overhauls to over 6 different games. For some of them I even made my own AI files. To do all kinds of modding I had to check out countless tutorials, read files and learn game mechanics through testing. So before I could design my own stuff I had to study. Same enthusiasm was applied to cars and sports. I didn't want to waste a day taking a car to a workshop and get a huge bill but rather maintain and repair basic things on my own. Learning how to access cars On Board Diagnostics (Computer) and looking at live engine data with a mobile phone was more interesting than paying others to do it. As for weightlifting I guess paying a personal trainer would have cost less time but constantly studying new things from experienced lifters was my choice.

What is this site about?

I made this website to be a portfolio to show my works. The plan at first was to publish small web UI projects and in the future incorporate more photoshop to these projects and make various theme based UIs. I made my first few site in 2012 with Photoshop and Flash with having 0 hours of HTML/CSS under my belt. Later years I studied with the help from youtube and the vast amount of different tutorials it had for Photoshop and CSS.
